NIC-SOLAPUR
The District Unit of NATIONAL
INFORMATICS CENTRE SOLAPUR was setup in 1988. Initially the Centre was
operational in the premises of the South Solapur Tahsil office, in the
Collectorate campus. Later it was shifted to the main building of the
Collectorate in 1994. Since then District Unit of NIC is located here.
NIC’s Video
conferencing room is just adjacent to the district centre, located in the
District control room of the Collectorate. The video conferencing services have
been started since Jan.2004.
As a part of
e-governance, NIC-Solapur is involved in implementing many application
softwares since its establishment. Due to the initiatives taken and valuable
feedbacks, the centre was involved in many important projects as a pilot
implementing district for beta testing.

The main activities
of the NIC-Solapur are mentioned below.
NIC-Solapur has
developed and implemented several office automation softwares since its
establishment on various platforms. The noteworthy softwares are,
Rainfall Monitoring System
EGS Works Monitoring system
Approved EGS works monitoring system
Computerisation of PF accounts for Z.P.
Election analysis s/w for polling stations, counting
support and random nos.
NIC-Solapur was
selected as the pilot district for the Land records computerization. It was the
pilot district for beta testing of computerisation of land records viz. village form no.7/12 and
property cards.
The Land records
softwares viz. LMIS and LINPCIS have been implemented successfully in the
district. The backlog data entry of 7/12 and PR cards has been completed and
the issue of these are being done from the respective Setu centers / offices.

Computerisation of
Election Analysis was the major activity of NIC-Solapur. The centre has
developed and implemented the Election Analysis Softwares covering all
activities of the Election. The computerisation of four elections in last three
years was a great success. The computerisation activities involved Management
Information system of Polling Stations, Election Counting Support Software and
Random numbers generation. Following is the list of election activities
participation.
AGMARKNET project
has been successfully implemented in all 10 APMCs of the district. Solapur APMC
was selected in the first Phase of the project, Sangola and Pandharpur in the
Second, Karmala, Kurduwadi and Mangalwedha in the third and now in the fourth
and last phase Akkalkot, Akluj, Barshi, Mohol, Vairag (Sub market under Barshi)
and Modnimb (sub-market under Kurduwadi) have been selected.
The APMCs covered in
the phases 1, 2 and 3 are sending day to day market prices and quantities on
the AGMAKRNET portal regularly. The other APMCs are about to send the data very
shortly. NIC-Solapur is also one of the faculty members for the AGMARKNET
training, to the staff of APMCs since 2002.
Since November
2004 NIC-Solapur has been entrusted the work of conducting DOEACC ‘CCC’ CAPES examination. The Centre
has successfully conducted the exams till date. Till today about 400 candidates
have appeared in last four online exams. This is a regular task conducted three
times in a year.
Apart from above NIC-Solapur is extending
technical support to following office in their day to day computerisation
activities.

NIC is guided by the State Informatics Officer, Maharashtra State Centre,
Mumbai and NIC, Head Quarters, New Delhi.
