SSiddheshwar Temple is dedicated to Lord Siddheshwar, a revered 12th-century saint and devotee of Lord Shiva. He is considered the guardian deity (gramadevata) of Solapur. The temple complex includes the samadhi (memorial) of the saint and several Shiva lingams installed by him. It is an important pilgrimage center, especially for followers of the Lingayat tradition. The temple becomes very lively during Makar Sankranti, when the famous Gadda Yatra fair is held.
